Nestled in the heart of the Perigord Vert, in the scenic northwest region of the Dordogne, La Garde offers an idyllic retreat surrounded by lush green forests. Originally built in the 1920s during the vibrant Art Deco period, this home was designed in the grand style of a traditional Maison de Maître (Manor House).
Over the years the house fell into disrepair, in 2018, it was lovingly restored to its former glory by Geoff and Linda, who purchased the property and over a period of years embarked on its careful renovation. Geoff, a New Zealander and retired builder, took on much of the restoration work himself, blending craftsmanship with a deep respect for the home’s original character.
Today, we invite you to share in the peace and charm of La Garde. Set within 7 acres of beautifully park-like grounds, our home offers a serene escape. Whether you’re here to relax, explore the Dordogne, or simply enjoy our warm hospitality, we look forward to welcoming you as our guest.
